Hundreds of Santa Clara County residents came through Prince of Peace over four days from February 29th through March 3. The Fellowship Hall was being used a voting center and polling place for the California Primary election. During those days PoP volunteers staffed a greeting table with coffee, water and information about Prince of Peace. The first few days were quiet, but by election day there was a steady stream of voters registering in person, changing their registration, voting, or just dropping off mail-in ballots. With several dozen donut holes we offered a welcome presence and even got to have some more in depth conversations. We built relationship with the election staff too (they were also thrilled with the hospitality and even got the coffee going before we arrived.) Special thanks to our volunteers at the table Marilyn, Arlene, Jim, North, & Anne. Special thanks to Drew for making a needed second donut run by 10:30am on election day. Prince of Peace will again be a voting center October 31, and November 1-3 for the Presidential elections. We will offer hospitality again and would love to have your help. Contact Anne to get involved.
