Music enhances worship and builds relationships

The music ministry at Prince of Peace is an integral part of our worship life. We have three active musical ensembles who rehearse and perform regularly. There are also a number of vocalists and instrumentalists from the community who contribute their musical talents from time to time. Throughout the year, special services will center around a particular musical genre such as jazz or bluegrass. These services are both fun and inspirational.

Praise Band 

The Prince of Peace worship band is composed with a variety of musicians, many of whom are active members of the congregation. It includes several vocalists, sax, bass, drums, acoustic guitar and keyboard. The emphasis is on upbeat, singable music that brings glory to God and creates an atmosphere of worship.

Lead by music director, Barbara Day Turner, who is the founder and conductor of the San Jose Chamber Orchestra. Barbara's energy, enthusiasm, and passion for giving God our best musically has been lifting the hearts of believers at Prince of Peace for many years. Barbara directs a choir of more than 30 members. The choir's mastery of classical, modern, and genre-specific pieces leads to outstanding performances that are the envy of churches for miles around. With access to a deep talent pool at the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, the choir is often accompanied by professional musicians on various instruments.

Children's Music

Children are often invited to participate in the music life of the church. From fun processionals to holiday choirs, there are lots of opportunities for children to explore their musical skills.

Concerts & Special Events

Music expresses what words cannot. It connects us to the divine. Prince of Peace has a deep passion for the divine inspiration that comes from music. We offer music centered special services, free concerts, and offer our facilities to other organizations for concerts throughout the year.
