Mission Endowment Fund Purpose

Prince of Peace Mission:
​Celebrate God's grace and glory,
Share the message of God's love,
Serve the hopes and hurts of our neighbors and ourselves and
Strengthen the God given talents of our church family.

The Mission Endowment Fund was created to enhance the mission and ministry of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in a manner consistent with the purposes and missions of the church apart from the general operating budget of the congregation.  Through the investment of gifts and bequests, the Endowment Fund will provide perpetual income to support educational, religious and charitable purposes to our surrounding community.
The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund provides financial awards to individuals and organizations that have emphasis on extending the life and mission of the church, which would include but be not limited to:

• Mission outreach - local/national/international faith based organizations that are meeting basic human needs
• Innovative new programs or ministries

Eligibility to receive funds

All people are welcome to apply on behalf of an organization, endeavor, or project that furthers the mission and outreach goals of the congregation.  Please note that distributions of the Mission Endowment Fund are meant to be for the benefit of the wider community, not members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Grants typically range from $1000-$5000.​

Application process

To apply, complete the online application. *Occasionally the Mission Endowment Fund Board may request additional information regarding the request prior to making a final decision.​

Applications are accepted through December 31, 2025 with distribution decisions made in January.

Notification

Applicants are informed of the Mission Endowment Board award decisions by letter from the Mission Endowment Board President. Normal processing time for application submission to decision being made is one to three months. ​​

Recipient Responsibilities

• The recipient is responsible to advise the Mission Endowment Board  of any changes, significant delays or problems with the fund distribution as was originally intended.  
• All funds granted must be used within one year.
• Unused funds must be returned to the Mission Endowment Board.
• Recipients are asked to submit a brief report to the Mission Endowment Board, accounting for the expenditures of the funds and describing the results of fund use, which may include photographs, testimonials or publications.  The Mission Endowment Board reserves the right to use the contents of these reports to provide a summary in the Annual Report of the Fund to the Congregation, to promote the Fund or to describe the work of the Fund in other publications.

The purpose of the Mission Endowment Fund is to enhance the mission outreach of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church apart from the general operating budget of the congregation.  Through the investment of gifts and bequests, the Endowment Fund will provide perpetual income to support our mission.
