Lunch Ministry Kick-off

Many thanks to the volunteers who made fifty (50!) lunches for our friends at the San Jose Family Shelter this week!

Prince of Peace has a long history of caring for the physical needs of our neighbors and one way we can continue this vital ministry is by packing sack lunches in the safety of our own homes and dropping them off at PoP for delivery to the Family Shelter. 

The Shelter is in need of fifty lunches per day. We have committed to serve lunch again next week, and would love your help! The lunches are simple affairs, made up of: 

• 1 sandwich (meat, meat with cheese, or PB&J)
• 1 small bag of chips or a snack bar
• 1 fruit or fruit cup
• 1 juice box 
• 1 treat (cookies, brownies, etc.)

If you would like to help feed and care for others, we ask that you sign-up in increments of 5. The lunches need to be dropped off Wednesday the 3rd between the hours of 9am - 1pm on PoP’s campus. (If this is a problem for you we can arrange for pick-up from your home or set up an alternate time!) On Thursday, one of our volunteers will shuttle all of them to the shelter.  We'll provide additional information to those who have volunteered on Monday.
