Theology in the Pub

First Wednesday of the month @ 7:00 pm

• Discussion of a theology related topic in a casual setting
• Takes place off-site at a local restaurant
• Follow Prince of Peace on Facebook for reminders and topics

Tables for Fellowship

Seasonal

• Small groups of members meet for dinner in a Host's home
• All diners contribute to a pot-luck meal
• Dinners are held on Saturday evenings a few months each year
• Interested members sign-up and share dates available
• Coordinator schedule the host homes, dinner dates, and guest list
• Watch email and weekly announcements for dates

Endowment Board

• Responsible for oversight and distribution of Prince of Peace endowment funds
• Review proposals and distribute approved yearly payouts
• Members are elected by the congregation to three year terms

Young Adults

Monthly, not regular date

• ​​Social events aimed at those somewhere between college and parenthood

Fellowship Lunches

4th Wednesday @Noon

• Monthly meal in the Fellowship Hall
• Volunteers and staff prepare the meal based on a monthly theme
• A free-will offering is collected to help cover costs
• Dates and themes are announced in church and weekly emails

Patio Parties

Once per month
June through August

• Fellowship and dinner on the patio outside Fellowship Hall
• Main course is provided
• Bring a salad or dessert to share
• Set-up and clean-up help are always appreciated
• Followed by games for all ages
• Or just stay to socialize and enjoy the weather

Weavers Circle

1st Wednesday of the month @ 7:00pm

• Mixed age group that meets for fellowship and discussion of current events topic from a Christian perspective
• Lessons are emailed before each meeting 
• Lessons require little reading and no prerequisites: perfect for busy lives 
• Meets in the same location each month

WELCA

WELCA stands for Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). By virtue of being a woman and a member of Prince of Peace you are automatically a member of WELCA. You are invited to become an active member by joining a circle. Each circle member is asked to make a small annual donation to WELCA. These donation are used to support world mission projects, Lutheran World Relief, improvements around Prince of Peace, and scholarships to Women's Retreats. Prince of Peace's WELCA Board meets quarterly to review projects and distribute funds.

NOW Circle

4th Monday of the month @ 7:30pm

• A dynamic group of women who meet monthly for fellowship and short Bible based discussion
• Members are a wide variety of ages
• Twice per year group goes out for dinner at a local restaurant
• Rotates to a different member's home each month

Rebekah Circle

2nd Monday of the month @ 11:30

• Includes lunch
• A group of more experienced women
• Monthly study of a chapter of a Bible study series or other faith topic (2020 is a study of authors and meanings of favorite hymns - a new hymn each month)
• Rotates to a different location each month

Church Council

• Leads the congregation in stating its mission, long range planning, setting goals and priorities, and evaluating its activities in light of its mission and goals
• Promotes a congregational climate of peace and goodwill; fosters mutual understanding as differences arise
• Maintain supportive relationships with the Pastors and staff
• Council members are elected by Congregational vote in a mid-year meeting that takes place in May or June
• Council terms are for three years
• Council elects its own officers from the council members

Fellowship Committee

• Fellowship is time spent together to get to know our brothers & sisters in Christ
• The purpose of the committee is to oversee the Fellowship calendar for the year, initiate events when needed, recruit support help, plan and coordinate annual meeting, summer patio parties and annual picnic
• The committee is lead by the Church council Fellowship liason

Women's Retreat

Fall

• An opportunity to get out of our routines.
• Everything is included: meals, group sleeping rooms, activities, & program.
• Lots of free-time for meditation or socializing.
• Scholarships available - don't let cost be a barrier.
